Sagaing Region, Wetlet Township, according to the local residents, more than 5,000 people from nearby eleven villages have fled due to the Military Council’s troops offensive against a Ngapatchaung village this afternoon.
At around 2:30 in the afternoon, the 40-strong column that suddenly entered and opened fire on Ngapatchaung village on the banks of the Irrawaddy River, came up from Shanemakar with an iron boat and joined forces with Pyu Sawhtee (Pro-military council militia group) from the Ywathaya village.
Because of the sudden arrival of such a column, villages such as Myenu, Sin Kyun, SipinKyun, Ywa Thit, Hintha Gyi, Thitseint, Kugyi, Thayet pinsu, HlaepoeSeit, YawThit, including Ngapatchaung village’s more than 5000 residents have fled. Last June 27th, a column invaded and burned down the Ngapatchaung village, and more than 120 of the 400 houses were burnt to ashes. #Era’s Eye News
