Residents said that the Military Council troops planted landmines in the village near Hpruso Township, Karenni State. On August 12th, at 6:00 p.m., a battle broke out, and the military council troops retreated and planted landmines in the village.
During the battle, the military council came and bombed the village church on purpose, the locals said. It is also reported that the church and some houses in the village were damaged due to the military council’s aerial bombardment.
The Karenni Army (KA) said that the military council has planted landmines in the village of Hti Thaw Ku and is still stationed near the pagoda in Kadala village.
