According to the Association for the Assistance of Political Prisoners (AAPP), eight of the missing political prisoners have died in Daik U(Kyaik Zakaw) prison.
Regarding the disappearance of 37 political prisoners from Daik U Prison on June 27, it is said that the prison is sending death notices to their families within a day. AAPP confirmed on July 19 that two political prisoners missing from the prison, Ko Khant Lin Naing and Ko Pyae Phyo Hein, have died, and six more prisoners also have died.
The six other people who died were Ko Yar Lay (aka) Zin Myint Tun (father) U Myint Than, Ja Gyi (aka) Wai Yan Lwin (father) U Aye Lwin, Zin Win Htut (aka) Bala Gyi (aka) China Gyi (father) U Pyant Maw, Aung Myotu (father) U Maung Sein, Bobo Win (aka) Htan Tawgyi and Nay Aye Arkar Htet Pine Soe (father) U Myo Lin. Arsons and deaths in prisons have increased in recent days, including arbitrary arrests and torture during interrogations in towns and cities is increasing.
In relation to these events, international governments, including the United Nations, AAPP urges the international legal authorities to urgently conduct an urgent investigation and take effective measures against the Myanmar military.
