On September 19th, Cobra Column announced that a soldier from the 9th Army under the 44th Division of the Military Council brought a 338 sniper rifle and ammunition. In the past, military council soldiers who joined the Cobra column with weapons were given fifty thousand baht (about 50 thousand kyats), but now soldiers who brought snipers were given one hundred thousand baht.
The soldier brought a 338 sniper rifle and 50 rounds of 338 ammunition. Military council soldiers had previously come to join the KNLA joint forces with large and small weapons, but this was the first time that they brought a sniper rifle.
The 338 sniper is a long-range sniper, capable of firing from 500 meters to more than 2000 meters depending on the type of ammunition, as well as being capable of destroying tanks. The KNU has informed that the soldiers of the army under the military council are warmly welcomed to leave their army and come to join the KNU and the public with weapons and ammunition, and they will also provide support to sustain their lives in the future.
