Southern Shan State, It is reported that 700 million Kyats will be earmarked for the long-term conservation of Inlay Lake in Nyaung Shwe Township and the greening project. Regarding the Inlay Lake conservation project, U Kyaw Kyaw Oo, Deputy Director of Nyaung Shwe Township District Irrigation and Water Management Department, said in a newspaper owned by the Military Council.
Inlay Lake is the second largest lake in Myanmar and was designated as an ASEAN Wildlife Heritage Area in 2013 and a Ramsar Wetland Area in 2018. Inlay Lake is 45 square miles wide and is the second-largest inland lake in Myanmar. Inlay Lake is a wetland designated to be preserved as a natural reserve and designated as an ASEAN Heritage Park in 2013. 2015 it was designated as a UNESCO World Network of Biosphere Reserves.
