On August 28, 2023, Wundwin Township Revolution Force (WTRF) announced that two army offices and two Phyu Saw Htee militia who were searching PDFs in Wundwin Township were attacked by WTRF and one officer was shot and killed while fleeing.
On August 25th around 6pm, the west side of Wundwin township, two officers and two Phyu Saw Htee militias from the military council searching the WTRF were ambushed by WTRF and investigated them.
Two officers from the military council and two Phyu Saw Htee were investigated on the way and told them to lay down on the ground but captain Kaung Myat Zaw and other officer tried to shoot with their pistols and trying to run away.
“ We tried to arrest and interrogate two lieutenants and two Pyu on the road, but when all four were forced to lie down, Lieutenant Kaung Myat Zaw and another lieutenant ran away with a pistol,” WTRF said. It is written that because of a follow-up shooting, Captain Kaung Myat Zaw was hit while another unknown captain escaped, and two Pyu Saw Htee was killed on the spot.
“ Captain Kaung Myat Zaw just moved to Wundwin City. He even planned his family to follow him in Wundwin, but now his body is waiting for his family,” WTRF said on August 28 in the morning.
According to news reports, many cars are waiting for the family at the general office and the police station in Wundwin town for the funeral of Captain Kwon Myat Zaw, who fled after being hit by a gun.
