Sagaing Region. It is known from the locals that on April 27th at 3:30 p.m., Mi35 military helicopters from Monywa Northwest military command attacked six villages from the air for almost 30 minutes. Hla Taw Village, Kyi Kan South Village, Kyi Kan North Village, U Te Kone village, Dun Te Kone village and Than Taw Kyi Kone village were air attacked by the military council’s jet fighters.
According to the Kyi Kan Taung villager, he said, “the shooting started around 4:15pm at the north of the village monastery, it hit the preaching hall and the wood splinters hit two men nearby but not serious, when the heavy weapon shot from the air one resident fall down unconscious, on the way carrying him, his heart stopped and died”. A Straw pile was hit by the shelling and caught fire in Kyi Kan Taung village and the monastery preaching hall was destroyed.
Nearly 4,000 residents of those six villages were able to escape from their homes in advance, so their lives were safe, the residents said. The People’s Defense Forces attacked the military council column stationed in Hla Taw village at 3:00 pm on April 27th, after that the military council army carried out this air attack.
