Since May 24, a 70-strong Military Council column raided two villages in Ayadaw Township, resulting in the deaths of six people.
Because the military council column raided and burnt down 222 houses according to the residents.
On May 24th, when the column entered Taung Mhwa village and fired with heavy weapons, two elders aged around 80 were killed and a man in his 30s was shot dead.
In addition, two elderly women, aged around 80, died in the fire because they were unable to escape because their homes were set on fire, residents said.
On May 25, the column left Taung Mhwa village and raided Magyisout village.
Residents said that a man in his 50s who was trying to escape was shot in the head and chest, and 86 houses in the village were also burned down.
A local resident, who did not want to be named for security reasons, told RFA that the military council was informed by an informer that local defense forces were getting military training in Taung Mhwa village.
It is said that the column set fire to the houses in Magyisout village on May 25 and then left for Ayadaw town.
About 2,000 residents of Taung Mhwa village, which has around 400 households, have been living in the forest until May 27 because they are afraid to return to the village.
