The Ministry of Health of the National Unity Government announced on April 28 that despite the fact that the military council’s continuous attacks on the health sector, including hospitals/clinics, are getting worse day by day, the NUG Ministry Health Department informed to the international community repeatedly to prevent and take action as soon as possible but no action has been carried out calls were ignored.
In the statement from NUG, it said the military council has carrying out aerial bombing attacks on hospitals and clinics that are treating civilians in April. The military council’s intentional targeting of the health sector and terrorist attack is against the Geneva Conventions as well as United Nations Security Council resolutions.
They are also blatantly violating international laws and domestic laws. NUG has repeatedly informed and urged the international community to prevent and take action as soon as possible. During April, when the military council attacked the health sector, on April 2nd, Tigyaing Naung Pintha District, on April 5th, Shwegu Township Sitha District Hospital, on April 7th, the emergency rescue medical team site on the Kayah-Shan border, on April 18th, Myaing Township, Magyikan Public Hospital,.on April 25th , Shan south Pekon township, Saung Phwe Peoples’ Hospital were bombed by the military council jet fighters.
In addition, on March 24, an airplane bombed the Dota Mai Hospital in De Moso Township. As a result of these attacks, civilians were killed and injured. National Unity Government,as the Ministry of Health depertment, even in the presence of terrorist attacks by the Military Council, the public health care activities are carried out by heroic health workers and local organizations; It has been informed that they will continue working with the ethnic people.
