According to a press release from the NUG Ministry of Defense (Military Headquarters), the warship of the Military Council was attacked with heavy weapons.
On July 28th, the joint forces of the People’s Defense Forces fired heavy weapons at a warship of the military council that was sailing up the Irrawaddy River somewhere between Kyauk Myaung Port and Thebeikkyin Port.
The NUG Ministry of Defense (Military Headquarters) stated that two (2) large weapons directly hit the belly and rear of the warship due to the firing of heavy weapons.
It has been reported that the Joint Forces of the People’s Defense Forces were able to withdraw unscathed when the warship of the Military Council was attacked. The warship was attacked by the People’s Defense Army (PDF) No. (509) Battalion. Shwe Bo District Battalion (3), People’s Defense Force (Thebeikkyin) and Nine PDF jointly attacked.
