According to the Karen National Union (KNU), 31 major/small battles took place between the Military Council Army and the Karen Joint Forces in the Dupalaya District of the KNU area in May, and 46 Military Council troops were killed, four were injured, and three were captured as prisoners of war between May 1 to May 31, in the KNU administrative area. It was announced on June 23 by the KNU about the fighting between the KNLA/KNDO joint column and the Military Council in the 6th Brigade of Dupalaya District.
It is known that during the fighting in May, 5 people were injured on the side of the revolutionary groups, and one person died. The military council army carried out nine airstrikes targeting the public and 102 attacks with heavy weapons. It is reported that 17 innocent people, including an 8-year-old child, were injured, and three people were killed, including 13-year-old Maung Than Naing Oo, in Dupalaya District by the military council army’s violation of human rights and committed war crimes. One Christian church and 22 civilian homes were destroyed due to the coup army’s targeted attacks on the people.
