It is reported that the SAC military unit offensive against Chanthar Village, Ye-U Township, Sagaing Region on January 14th. According to the locals, the 129-year-old Church, which has been worshiped by Catholic Christians, was also burnt down due to the arson.
Because of the Mother Church was burned down, locals recently renovated a monastery, a century-old historical nunnery and the bell tower were also burnt down. The Church which was burned by a SAC’s troop, was built by Catholic Christians in 1894 and is a 129-year-old historic church.
