The Central Committee of the Kachin Independence Organization (KIO) issued a statement on April 15th 2023, that it strongly condemned the Military Council for the aerial bombardment of Pazigyi village in Kanbalu Township, Sagaing Division, which was not a military target.
The KIO has issued a statement saying that, instead of protecting its own people, the military council treated civilians like enemies, the inhumane aerial bombing of communities where civilians live that are not military targets, regardless of the military, it was a very despicable and cowardly act. KIO strongly condemns this act and said it was intentionally conducted by the military council to target the civilians.
We express our respect and honor to all the individuals who sacrificed their lives for the country and nation by standing on the side of the truth to escape from the evil military dictatorship. More than 100 innocent villagers, including children were killed when the military council initiated the bombing attack, which resulted in mass casualties, was a crime against humanity.
KIO said in a statement that they are equally saddened by their friends who have lost their family members and friends. Only if we can end the military dictatorial system that uses all kinds of methods to abuse and threaten the public, then we can build a true federal union and free from oppression and threat from this evil system.
