The Military Council has announced that the curfew will be lifted for one day on December 31st in order to celebrate New Year’s Eve 2023 in Yangon.
The military council said that the New Year festival in Yangon’s public square will be crowded with fireworks and stage shows.
Therefore, the curfew will be temporarily lifted from 12:00 p.m. on December 31st until 4:00 a.m. the next day on January 1st. The military council is always trying to show the international community that it is operating normally in the country after the coup.
The market was held in Yangon’s public square during the last Thadinkyut (October) and Tasoungtai (November) festivals, but both festivals were not crowded.
