On January 2nd 2023, Karen State, Kawkareik Township, Three Pagoda Pass, two BGF camps under the command of Military Council were attacked and occupied by Allied forces this morning. The camps were seated in the area of KNU 6th Brigade.
According to the battle among three camps of the military council, two were occupied by allied forces. There were many causalities from the military council side.
In yesterday’s battle, six soldier from the alliance team, including Comrade Saw Boon Aung of the Lion Battalion Commando Strategic Column, was killed. The military council troops are continuously using air strikes on the ground and four villagers were injured.
The battle between the military council army and KTLA (Lion Battalion Commando-Strategic Column), KNLA and allied groups have forced to flee more than 15,000 people from nearby villages of Kawkayeik, and Three Pagoda Pass area, Karen State.
