Magway Region, according to local residents, on September 3rd the bridge that connects the villages in Gangaw Township collapsed, making it difficult to travel. It has been raining for 3 days in a row in the northern part of Gangaw Township, and at around 2:30 a.m., the ground collapsed at the Htone Kyauk Chaung bridge between Myezar Village and Kwye Nan Village, causing local residents to find it difficult to travel.
The bridge was built with concrete in 2019 and had to be rebuilt in 2022 because it collapsed due to a flood, and due to the flood in late July and continuous rain, the retaining walls were not strong enough and collapsed.
The bridge was heavily relied by more than 20 villages from the northern part of Gangaw such as Ywa Se, Larpoe, Myin Zar, Kywe Nan, Taung Lae, Letpan, Tha Kaung, Shint Shae, Chaung Sone, Kan, and Kantha villages.
