Irrawaddy Region, Yegyi Township, On August 30th, U Aung Myint Soe, the ward chairman of the National League for Democracy (NLD) party, in Athote town was arrested at his home in Ward No. 4.
The military council forces accused and arrested about 7 people, including U Aung Myint Soe, after an unknown group of people threw a grenade at the police chief while he was sitting at a tea shop.
On September 3, four days after his arrest, at night, U Aung Myint Soe died of severe injuries and his body was not given back to his family, only ashes were received.
