The Kachin Independence Army (KIA) Information Department released a battle report today (January 7). On January 6th in Suamprabom Township, Kachin State, the military council army and the KIA No. (1) Brigade has clashed.
The battle between the two sides lasted for more than an hour, The incident took place in the 10th Battalion area, between Suamprabom and Maliyan. The KIA’s statement stated that there were casualties from the terrorist military council in that battle.
On the afternoon of January 6th, a convoy of 20 military vehicles believed to have moved from the Northern Military Headquarters in Myitkyinar towards Chiphwe was intercepted by the KIA No. 5 Brigade. It is reported that a mine attack was carried out under the area of No. (3) Battalion.
The KIA News and Information Department reported that 2 cars were damaged in a military convoy carrying military supplies and food, and many soldiers from military council were killed and injured.
