The Karen National Union (KNU) Hpapun District Brigade (5) area was reportedly bombarded again by the Military Council on the night of February 15th. On February 17th, Brigade 5 reported that many residential buildings were burnt down due to aerial bombardment.
Three jet fighters of the Military Council attacked Htaw Htee Pae village located in Hpapun (Mukyaw) District. It is reported that there were six bombs were dropped on the village of Htaw Htee Pae and seven schools, six uninhabited buildings, three shops and two barns were hit and destroyed by fire. In addition, four tractors, two motorcycle, internet wifi cable and a rice mill were destroyed. A total value of more than 100,000,000 kyats worth was lost.
On February 14th , the military council came with three fighter jets and dropped six bombs on Debuno village, hitting six uninhabited buildings and destroying them by fire. The 5th Brigade has announced that the people are panicking due to the air attacks which disrupting their daily work.
The Military Council Army conducted nearly 60 airstrikes on the 5th Brigade Area Hpapun District and the 6th Brigade Area Nyaung Lay Pin District last January, dropping more than 200 bombs and firing machine guns, resulting in the deaths and injuries of civilians.
