Sagaing Region. A local news source told Maa Eye that more than 10,000 people from 14 local villages are fleeing the war as the military council troops prolong the offensive against Myaung Township.
The Military Council’s 150-strong column started entering villages such as Nagapok, Naypu kone, Phone Kaung, Htone Kyaing, and thaung Gyi villages at around 7:00 a.m. on September 14th.
“ There are more than 10,000 people who have fled the war. There are many villages that have to flee under the rain, so they are having trouble with food and shelter.
In addition, the military council column raided the Kin San Pya village in the morning of September 15th, and a People’s Defense Force member was also arrested and burned to death. In Myaung Township three PDF camps were raided and burnt down and 15 motorcycles were destroyed. Currently, as of September 18, the villages in Myaung township 300 strong military forces offensive against villages such as Nagapok, Naypu kone, Phone Kaung, Htone Kyaing, thaung Gyi, Kin San, Kin Chaung Gyi, Ywa Thit, Shwe Bone Tha, Na Bet San Pya, Min Tn, Aine Tha, Pauk Taw, Ku Toe Kone, Swe Le O, Kyauk Phu Kone, and Tha Tun villages are fleeing from war.
Also, starting on September 14th, Sagaing City, The Sagaing District Medical Team said that after offensive against the villages along the southwest river, goods were stolen from seven villages along the river, and four local people from Myin Sae village were killed. Until now, the military council troops are stationed in Nagapauk village and Thaung Gyi village.
