A military council unit attacked the Bahin District Hospital in Myaing Township, Magway Region by air strike. It happened today, January 21, 2023. The attack lasted for about half an hour, and about 50 patients in the hospital had to be evacuated urgently, according to local residents.
The Bahin District Hospital is currently run by the NUG Government Ministry of Health. The SAC Council came to shoot with an attack helicopter (Mi 35). As a result of the shooting, about 30 bullet points were hit and almost the entire hospital was destroyed, so it was temporarily closed.
In the hospital new born children, surgical patients, children and adults total of around 50 patients are getting treatment there and those patients had to be urgently evacuated to nearby villages and relatives’ houses.
The military council army fired four times with heavy weapons (Mi 35) at the exact location of the hospital, and attacked without any other reason. According to local residents, a woman aged around 60 who was hiding under a tree at the back of the hospital was hit by a heavy weapon and died while the military council was firing from the air.
