According to today’s press release of the Progressive Karenni People’s Force (PKPF), the Karenni People’s Liberation Front (KNPLF), which has been transformed into the Border Guard Force (BGF), retaliated against the military council in the battle in Mese, Karenni State.
The Karenni Multinational People’s Liberation Front (KNPLF) was forced to transform into the Border Guard Force (BGF) in 2009 after the cease-fire, and now the KNPLF’s Pantein-based battalion and the Ywa Thit-based battalion have returned to stand on their original position.
Starting from June 14th, the military council’s stations near the KNPLF’s headquarters around Hose new town such as Mese police station, Strategic hill and Thai-Burma border post No. BP 14 military outpost, BP 15 Maetanwe camp, BP 16 Taung Hla camp were occupied by KNPLF. On the other hand, the military council intensified bombing and heavy artillery shelling on Hpaswang city’s camps which are located on the side of the Salween River, including KNPLF Ho-se new town headquarters.
Together with KNPLF, 4K joint allied group formed with KNU/KNLA/KNPP/KA နဲ့ KNDF are fighting together at Mese township. The KNPLF which was forced to formed as border guard force is the first regiment fighting back against the military council troops.
