The US Embassy in Yangon has expressed its condolences to those who have lost their lives due to the violence they are perpetrating. Today is the one-year anniversary of Jimmy, Phyo Zeya Thaw, Hla Myo Aung and Aung Thu Ra Zaw who were executed by the military council.
Starting from military coup on February 1st, 2021, the military council and its affiliate organizations committed violence against people which killed 3800 lives and the US Embassy was sadden together with the people of Myanmar.
The American Embassy said that it will continue to encourage and support the Burmese people who are eager to exercise their fundamental rights and freedoms.
The Military Council reported in the July 24, 2022 newspaper that four people, including 88th generation student leader Jimmy and former NLD MP Phyo Zeya Thaw, were executed by a military court.
