Nay Pyi Taw, according to a statement from the Sittaung Guerrilla Force, a substation near the State Visitor’s Center in Dakkhina Thiri Township was bombed at 7:00 p.m. on April 14. As a result of this attack, some transformers inside the substation were damaged and there was also a power outage in the compount of the State Visitor’s Center.
The Sittaung Urban Guerrilla Force said, “ We tried to continue the attack during the blackout after blowing up the substation, but we had to retreat because we couldn’t be safe.” It is reported that the substation could not transmit electricity until the middle of April 15th and all repairing are still being made. After the explosion, security at the state guest house was double for the ambassadors of Russia, military officials and artists who were visiting to Nay Pyi Taw for Thingyan festival.
