On the morning of April 19, revolutionary youth distributed pamphlets urging soldiers and policemen to stand up for the truth in crowded streets in Yangon and Mandalay.
The appeal was distributed with the aim of encouraging the soldiers and policemen of the military council to take refuge in the arms of the people and to stand by the people for the truth.
The revolutionary youth “ quietly leave from oppression for the truth” ; “ Stay on the side of the people without harming the family.” “ Watermelon season has arrived” (The meaning of this is water melon are green in color from outside but red inside- (Green symbolize the military and red symbolize NLD)) Get the prize money and to get back the dignity.
It is known that more than two thousand posters such as “ Recover your dignity” were distributed to make the “ watermelon” project. The movement was organized by the People’s Embrace and the Kyimyindaing Networks (K.M.D18) and the Mayangone Democratic Front (M.D.F).
