According to a statement from the Launglon Township People’s Defense Force (LLPDF), three places in Dawei city, including the housing of regional parliament ministers, were attacked with mortar shelling. On July 16th, around 11:00 p.m., at the House of Ministers of the Provincial Parliament in Dawei City was attacked by the LLPDF and a joint team.
The military council troops hiding near the border affairs department office and the Dawei-Launglon connecting bridge were attacked with 81 mm mortars. Due to the firing of mortars, three shells landed in the residence of the regional ministers housing area. The press officer of LLPDF said that two shells exploded inside the office of the Border Affairs Department and four shells went off near the Military Council troops near the Kamyawkin Bridge.
It is known that the attack was carried out by the Launglon Township People’s Defense Force (LLPDF) and the Special Guerrilla Force, and the military council is still investigating the damage.
