The Karen National Union (KNU) controlled area, the Karen National Liberation Army (KNLA) 5th Brigade in Phapon District reported that four soldiers from the military council came along with their weapons at a frontline area of the 5th Brigade on the morning of April 10th and surrendered.
They brought 4 MA-1 guns and ammunitions such as full 16 bullet magazines, 2 grenades and 5 grenades. They were abused by the superior officers at the front camp and they did not have the strength to continue because they did not have enough food and water.
At present, it is reported that the enlightened soldiers expressed their willingness to join forces with the 5th Brigade and counter-attack the military council.
The Karen National Association, KNLA-Karen National Liberation Army has announced that the 5th Brigade willing to accept to those who would like to surrender are warmly welcome and take care of them.
