According to a press release today, a police sergeant from the Military Council was arrested by the Dawei People’s Liberation Army (TPLF) on the Yangon-Dawei No. 8 highway. Police Sergeant Zaw Min Oo, Personal number (214721), who returned from Malawe Taung security gate to Yephyu City Police Station, was arrested by the defense forces on July 2nd when he came down in a private car with the people.
“ Police Sergeant Zaw Min Oo, who came disguised as a civilian in a private car, was caught,” TPLF said in a statement. After interrogating the captured police sergeant, Zaw Min Oo, the joint forces planned to send him to the NUG’s Ministry of Defense (MOD), but he resisted and ran away. He was shot and killed.
The body of the deceased police sergeant Zaw Min Oo was appropriately buried with human dignity by the joint forces, the statement added.
