According to a statement issued by the Taang Army (TNLA) today, August 14th, one of the four residents arrested by the city militia was beaten to death during the battle in Muse town.
During the Muse battle between the army and the TNLA, the city militia arrested U Aike Myint 36 years old from Namkat group Mine Set Village and Lom Myat Aung 22 years old, Yi Aung Win 24 years old and Aike Maung Oo 17 years old from Mann Kan Village.
It has been reported that the faces of the four abducted locals were covered with cloths and beaten for two days without being fed. Mann kan villager Yi Aung Win, 24, died of starvation and beatings. It is said that it is not yet known how the body of the deceased was disposed of, and that the three local residents who were released were tied with cloth over their faces and dumped in a garbage dump near Man Mai village.
It is reported that the four residents were arrested and taken away by the city militia group in Sai Kaung village, accusing them of being TNLA soldiers.
