Kachin State, the Kachin Independence Army (KIA) attacked the military council ships that arrived in Shwegu. It was reported that the KIA and PDF joint forces attacked for two days.
A source from the Shwegu Township People’s Defense Force said that the group of warships were attacked with various weapons on August 13th and this morning.
A total of nine ships loaded with weapons and food, the military council fleet started from Gaw Wun river port in Mandalay on July 26th and went up the Irrawaddy river. On August 7th, one warship was damaged when the defense forces opened fire upon entering Shwegu Township.
