In some areas of Yangon, on the morning of April 6th, the revolutionary joint forces organized to boycott the Thingyan Festival arranged by the Military Council and activists started a sticker campaign to reject Thingyan Festival.
The stickers were written, “People don’t celebrate blood throwing Thingyan festival”; ” “ The People’s Voice of the Revolutionary Thingyan;” “ Don’t celebrate the Bloody Thingyan Festival” The revolutionary youth urged the people to join the activities of their “ Revolutionary Thingyan” together, which would enable them to oppose the military dictator. The movement was carried out jointly by KMD18 and the Mayangone Democratic Front (MDF).
