On May 9th, Lae winegyi village which is located in Karen National Union (KNU); Brigade-3 area, KhalaeLhwehtu district (Nyaunglebin District) Laedo township was burnt down by the military council troops. KNU information department issues a statement that 40 houses were destroyed by fire.
The KNU reported that in Lae gyi village more than 40 houses, a school, elementary school, and a Christian church were burnt down. In addition, two houses from Poelonopho village were also burnt and destroyed. Lae gyi village and Poelonopho village have total of 121 houses and 1206 residents were living there.
Also on May 4th, the military council attacked Yan Myo Aung village by shelling with heavy artillery in Mu Township, and 18 houses were burnt to ashes.
