Karenni (Kayah) State, The Karenni National Defense Force (KNDF) announced on January 27 that the military council carried out three days of unprovoked bombing raids by fighter jets without any fighting occurring in Loikaw Township. Since January 22, the military council has been attacking Loikaw Township by fighter jets.
At 12:00 PM on January 22, two bombs were dropped by fighter jets. Two times on January 23 at 12:00 p.m. On January 24th, after 5:00 p.m., it was reported that there were five bombs and three rounds of unprovoked shooting without reason.
The KNDF noticed that the airstrikes did not cause any human casualties, but only hit the vicinity of the people’s residences, and the military council’s attacks were a serious threat to the people’s lives and property, and they were openly targeting the public and committing serious war crimes.
Due to these conditions, the public should dig bomb shelters in order to protect themselves from air attacks. Don’t run away and look out while the plane is hovering. The KNDF asked people not to take photos and videos and not to stay together as crowded groups in the area where there are no bomb shelters.
