It is said that the Darli Bridge between Mawlamyaing and Kyainseikgyi was cut off by the KNU and the revolutionary forces by using mine. The revolutionary forces said that in order to cut off the military council’s main support route, the bridge had to be destroyed by mines.
The revolutionary forces have also appealed to the public to understand that this is needed to cut off the military logistic line. The Darli Bridge between Mawlamyaing – Kyainseikgyi was exploded for the second time and was totally damaged and impossible to cross the river.
The KNU-led Revolutionary Joint Forces and the State Administration Council troops are fighting each day in Kyainseikgyi area. Last January 4th, the Revolutionary Joint Forces raided and attacked the 3rd battalion of the SAC troop in Kyainseikgyi and managed to penetrate into the enemy battalion.
Some revolutionary groups have reported that the fighting was intense, and there were many casualties on both sides, and the death of many other ranks, including battalion commanders, on the SAC side. SAC is also using excessive air support and carrying out air attacks.
