NLD Deputy Minister of Planning and Finance and former Central Bank Vice-Chairman U Sett Aung was released for fulfilling his sentence term on June 2nd, 2023 from Yamethin Prison according to his close friends.
U Set Aung Aung together with San Suu Kyi’s Economic advisor, Mr. Sean Turnell,Ministers of Planning and Finance, U Kyaw Win and U Soe Win, all were prosecuted under the Government Secrets Act and imprisoned.
U Set Aung was sentenced to 3 years in prison in September last year. Sean Turnell together with British Vicky Bowman and her husband, Htein Linn, were suddenly released by the Military Council on November
