In commemoration of the July 7th commemoration that falls today, the Anti-Junior Yangon Force (AJAY) has organized a campaign to remind people of the July 7 uprising, which was bloodied by the military dictatorship in some parts of Yangon.
“ Let’s not forget 7-7-62″ is a letter written by Ko Kyaw Win, a university student from Surrey, in the blood that came out of his body in Yangon University’s Mandalay Hall during the 1962 Seventh July Uprising. It’s really a bloody letter written in blood,” AJAY said. Today’s photos of the movement show that Yangon revolutionary youth groups are expressing their desire to remind the public not to forget 7.7.62. Although the union building was demolished, the union spirit of the young people was not destroyed by any successive dictators, and they said that they will not be.
“ On this day, the successive military juntas are afraid that people might remember what they have done in their bloodthirsty lust for power. They tried to avoid it. They tried to hide it. “ Even though those who are suppressing to stop activities on that day, the young generation will find a way to expressing their will by avoiding all the barriers and do it” it was wrote in the statement. Ne Win’s socialist regime rewrite the university administration policy as they wish and suppressed the students’ movement by brutal force like military operation.
They use new automatic guns which were not even used in the battle field as a target practice to young students. Also in the Students Union Building, some injured students who were hiding was dynamited. Ne Win challenged the students from radio broadcasting that with sword by sword, spear by spear he will fight them said in the statement issued by Anti-Junta Alliance Yangon – AJAY.
